Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is highly desirable. Knowledge and understanding of different types of special educational needs and associated strategies for support. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students with diverse needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Basic understanding of educational practices and curriculum adaptations for students with special educational needs. Ability to handle challenging behaviours and adapt strategies to meet individual students' needs. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing school environment. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Relevant certifications or qualifications in youth work, special educational needs, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
